The effects of Artemisiae Iwayomogi Herba on rats fed high fat diet

Abstract
|
|
|
Objectives : The Artemisiae Iwayomogi Herba have effects of inducing diuresis to alleviate edema. We had experiment with Artemisiae Iwayomogi Herba in order to find cure effects for an obesty.
Methods : We fed control group rats high fat diet and administered normal saline for 8 weeks. And we fed experimental group rats high fat diet and administered extract of Artemisiae Iwayornogi Herba for 8weeks.
Results : The changes of the body weights in Artemisiae Iwayornogi Herba group showed a significant decrease in comparison with control group. The serum total cholesterol. triylyceride, free fatty acid and LDL -.cholesterol level in Artemisiae Iwayomogi Herba group showed a significant decrease in comparison with control group. The average size of the epididyrnal fat cells of the rats in Artemisiae Iwayomogi Herba group showed a significant decrease in comparison with control group. The area % of the fat drops in hepatic lobule of rats in Arternisiae Iwayornogi Herba group showed a significant decrease in comparison with control group.
Conclusions : According to above these results, Artemisiae Iwayomogi Herba has shown to be capable of cure and prevent for an obesty.
